Bars in Korea...

Are interesting...I'm currently writing from my cell phone in a bar called Yellow Taxi. I like this place we come here a lot we go out lol nice place & the bar chicks are really cool. Honestly, I'm writing right now because I'm bored lol it's a Wednesday night...though now Thursday morning bout 130am lol anyway bars here...nice & there's no tipping...it's rude...also, you are allowed to smoke indoors...kinda annoying but oh well...ok I should probably go be social bye ^-^
Btw the pic is of one of the bar chicks lol

Update time! ^_^

Hello all! I shall enlighten you about my weekend ^_^ and St Pattys.  I'll post some pics from it and some other ones.

St Patty's
St Pattys was pretty good a good amount of people came over for the party so that was nice. Everyone said they had a good time too! I made Green Sangria and we had waffles with butter and syrup or mixed berries fruit topping. We also had a lot of things to just munch on. It was nice to just chill and talk and get to know everyone better. Here are some pics!

This past Saturday Adventure, also, Girl's Night!
So on Saturday me and 3 co-workers went on this little excursion sponsored by the Dajeon International Community Center. It was a nice little hike and lunch and crafts and stuff at this little museum. I had a lot of fun on this adventure, though there weren't many other foreigners there lol btw this was all FREE :-D Ok enough of that picture time! s/n they're a little out of order lol apologies
Excited!

Lol

Totems...

Apparently the muffin looking thing holds the umbilical cords of  the kings that used to rule Korea

This was outside the restaurant where we had lunch

Inside said restaurant

Craft station after lunch

While our crafts were drying we came to the little folk museum part

This chest is Beautiful!

So the four encased thingys are knives that women would carry...apparently it was better to kill yourself instead of risked being raped

View from mini-hike

Match boxes

The finished craft! It's a coaster lol

On the hike...there was a moss band I had to have a pic with it lol

If you stare hard enough you may be able to see the little shrine in the distance

Another far off shrine

I organized a girl's night out with everyone which was really fun! Though I got shot down that night lol asked a this Korean guy if he wanted to go on a date with me and was rejected :-p eh knew it though he looked like he had a crush on this girl he's friends with...ANYWAY lol the night was really fun we had an awesome time...more pics!

Ugh...

Well meeting with the guy who wants to learn English (I will refer to him as English from now on) didn't happen. He sent me a message saying his Grandmother was really sick so he couldn't make it. I actually had a pretty good day at work Monday so that was nice, one of my middle school students even gave me a present. Today was rough, Tuesdays usually are; mostly it's my middle school students though. This group just doesn't like to listen it's like they don't care at all...well report cards are due this week so we'll see if that makes a difference *evil grin* I got a new student in that class though and she seems very nice and like she really wants to learn so that's a plus. I'm hoping this week gets better lol I know it just started but man...here's a pic of what the student gave me as a present:

They're headphones! Cute right?

My Web Cam is being a jerk...

So you know how I said I was going to do video post from now on? Well, right now my built in webcam is being a witch w/a capital B so scratch that for now until I figure out what the heck is going on. Anyway, back to the topic of me living in ROK :-) Last week Saturday my job had a dinner for everyone at this nice Chinese restaurant. It was pretty good about 7 courses I'll post some pics of the food. Great meal, especially for free lol   The branch manager decided to do this because we reached our enrollment goal. Afterwards most of us went out for a night on the town and we hung out with the Korean staff from work...They're so much fun lol I love them.

This past week at work has been....interesting lol I've been tired the whole week and for some reason all the kids were deciding to test my patience this week. Oh man my head instructor is like reviewing my tapes, they record all classrooms, I'm so nervous. We're meeting to talk about it on Monday. It's not like I think I'm a bad teacher but I don't know I just don't like to know someone's watching me ya know? lol Not only watching me but like doing a critical analysis...it's nerve racking.

So today is currently Saturday and St. Patrick's Day!!! Happy St. Patty's Day!!! I'm having a party at my apartment and I writing this as I'm waiting for people to show up lol I'm really excited to have people over we're cooking and I made Sangria last night, which I know isn't Irish but at least I made green :-p My friend is bringing her waffle maker and we snacks and maybe we'll go out for BBQ as well if we're all still hungry lol

Also, about last week, when out with friends last week Friday I met a guy who wanted to learn more English, he's a university student here. I'm meeting with him tomorrow for coffee and language exchange since I really want to learn Korean. Then later in the week I might get to see the guy I made friends with on the plane, he said he might have to come to Daejeon so we're going to meet up when I get off of work if he does. Just to clarify neither of these things are dates....at least I don't think they are...

Actually, that reminds about something; dating culture here is a bit odd. I don't quite understand how it works, but I see A LOT of couple stuff. I wish I had some pics to show you guys, but they have couple outfits for hiking, working out, everyday wear, and underwear....yes I said underwear....it's a bit strange, I don't wanna look like someone I'm dating lol I don't know just seems pretty corny

Speaking of strange, no one really wears chapstick here. My kids will come to class and they're lips look all dry and crusty...now the reason this is strange is because this place is all about appearance. They love to be attractive, I have yet to see a Korean in public wearing frumpy clothes. I mean back home you see it all the time, but here not at all. Not even other foreigners, I think it's because you don't want to stand out lol I mean I don't so I make sure I look decent before I leave the house. So, knowing that...what's up with the dry cracked lips? I know they sell chapstick here, I've seen it!

Ok I need to go people will be here soon, sorry for the choppiness and randomness of this entry lol as I said before typing it as I'm waiting for people so wanted to do it quickly before they get here. I hope everyone has a good St. Patrick's Day!!! O pics from the Dinner party below!
